In the second week of October each year, the Club hosts the Laleham Albion Tournament, a major regional tournament, which has been shot every year since 1962. At one point in the 1980s, 64 targets were needed, catering for over 300 archers. The targets spread from the current Club House into land now occupied by our neighbours, Nottcutts Garden Centre.
This year, despite apocalyptic weather conditions, 45 archers turned out to shoot in the 56th Laleham Albion, which was held on Sunday 14th October.
The shooting line was slippery, the target faces sodden and the scoresheets nearly disintegrated, but nevertheless, a great Dunkirk spirit prevailed, helped along by plenty of cake and smiling faces – and there was even a UK record claim submitted!
