Welcome to the web site of Laleham Archery Club. From the pages contained in the site you will be able to find out information about us and where the archery club is located. When we shoot and information for those wishing to join us through our Beginners Course. For those of you who are have shot or are interested in the Albion, which we hold every October we have a section dedicated to the Albion. Of course if you are a member of Laleham Archery Club there is a section especially for you, as well as the club shooting diary . Oh, and if wish to contact us, we would love to hear from you. Our beginners courses are now full until mid November, but we do have a waiting list if you want to put your name down but fear we have already scheduled the next course at our indoor venue in November on a Friday evenning with two sessions one for under 18s and their familes from 19:30 to 20:45 and open to all beginners is the second session 21:00 to 22:00. These sessions are suitable for anyone between the ages of 8 to 80 years old, and relatively fit and active. The programme consists of a maximum of six sessions. Since we understand that archery is not for everybody the first session is an opportunity to see you if you like it a "taster session" if you will. The taster session covers the exact same things that we do on the first session of the beginners course and counts as week 1 if you decide you want to continue the following week. The cost per person for the first session is just £6 and the balance of £30 per person (that works out to £6 per week) to be paid on the following session. If you decide that you want to complete the 6 week course, we can only hold open a space open for 8 weeks from 1st week you start. Naturally if you let us know you can't do the course in 8 weeks, we can make an exception for you.
This fee is non-
• Coaching by the Club’s Coaches/Senior Archers
• Archery UK (G.N.A.S) Insurance cover
• Temporary membership of Staines and Laleham Sports Association
The programme provides an introduction to the sport, covering safety aspects and getting beginners to the point where they can safely participate in Archery.
The course looks at:
• Safety and discipline
• Range control
• Shooting Technique -
• Basic Archery Rules
On successful completion of the training programme, beginners who join the Club may shoot alongside the seasoned members, and start to hone their skills.
All successful beginners (i.e. those who can demonstrate the required level of competence) will receive a ‘Certificate of Achievement’ from the Club, whether choosing to join Laleham Archery Club or not.
For beginners who do decide to join the Club, the Coaches and seasoned Archers are available to give advice regarding the purchase of equipment. Please note that Club equipment is not available post-
